Time:                        Noon – 1:00 PM

Speaker:                  John Heidebrecht will be the speaker for the October meeting presentation.  He’ll be discussing the recent Lunds Case.  The family ownership of the Lunds & Byerlys chain of grocery stores battled over tens of millions of dollars as the eldest sibling looked to cash out of the business.  This case went to trial and became a battle between nationally-known business valuation experts with wildly divergent opinions of value.  Pertinent facts of the case as well as the Court’s decision (including rebuking both experts) will be discussed by John.

• The MABVP has decided to change the from monthly meetings to quarterly meetings with a couple of additional events per year. Our schedule will see few alterations for the remainder of 2017, but please reference the upcoming events below for changes to the calendar.  Coming in 2018, we will be looking forward to a new meeting format and schedule.  Stay tuned for more information as all the details come together.
• In conjunction with the proposed new schedule of events and meeting format, the annual Business Valuation Conference has been canceled for 2018. We are studying the possibility of moving it to an every-other-year event or resuming the conference in the future as interest grows.
• We will be formulating a brief survey which you’ll receive in your inbox soon. Please take a moment to give us your opinions and insights so we can improve your experience as an MABVP member.  We value your input during this transition in schedule and meeting format and are excited to present the “new look” soon.
