Notes from the September 15 MABVP monthly meeting:

• Maury Cox was voted into the MABVP membership. Maury is from Columbus, Ohio and has substantial business experience. Welcome to MABVP!
• Board members and officers elected for the 2016-2017 year. Congratulations to the new officers and board members and thank you for your service to the organization.

• Member and officer recruitment – Annual member dues will be waived for those who are serving as an officer of the MABVP board. This is a new program to incent members to serve as officers.  The current practice of waiving first year member dues for new MABVP members will continue.  An additional new member recruiting tool will be implemented. Current ASA members who join MABVP will have membership dues waived for two years.
• Attendance – In an effort to increase attendance at monthly MABVP meetings, members of the local ASA chapter will be invited to MABVP monthly meetings.
• Mike Schaefer from Boulay PLLP led an interesting presentation on valuing distribution rights. Mike shared little-known facts from beer distribution agreements to illustrate issues related to valuation of distribution rights. Thank you for your time and insight, Mike!
