Time: Noon – 1:00 PM

Agenda:  Business meeting followed by presentation, Valuing Subsidiaries of International Entities and Intangibles. Presenters are Guy Sanschagrin and Nancy Voth.

General Business from September 17 annual meeting:  

• The proposed slate of Board candidates was approved. The 2015-2016 board is as follows:

President – Jennifer Schiefert

Vice President – Guy Sanschagrin

Secretary/Treasurer – Mike Meagher

Board Members – Bill Herber, Joe Kenyon, Ginger Knutsen, Karen Kritta, John Heidebrecht

• Honorary Life Memberships – Two Life Memberships were voted on.  Honorary Life Membership for Dick Thorsen was approved.
• A membership application by Henry Votel was approved. Mr. Votel is with Sunbelt and is an advisor, broker and valuator for main street businesses. He has multiple years of experience in the hotel and motel industry.
• The group discussed the new member benefits proposed by the Board. It was requested that the list of potential new members (Minnesota ABV listing) be sent to all current members to see who they know and may want to contact. In addition, it was suggested that it may be beneficial to rotate monthly meeting locations to benefit individuals not working downtown. Mr. Votel stated that he could get conference space at Sunbelt’s office (West Broadway and 35) or Hellmuth & Johnson offices (169 and 494).
•  The upcoming meeting schedule (shown below) was reviewed. Topics are still needed for the January and February meetings. Members with topic ideas or who would like to present should contact Jennifer Schiefert or Cathy Hickman.

Roundtable discussion notes: 

The group discussed current trends in tax-effecting including a discussion of the Hamelink case, Nancy Fannon’s new book and adjusting the cost of capital versus adjusting cash flows.
