Recap: Thank you to Guy Sanschagrin and Paul Flignor who took us through the basics of Transfer Pricing at our May meeting. This area is understandably confusing as definitions for intangible and tangible property are open for interpretation by the various tax authorities – including the IRS. Regulations governing taxable and non-taxable aspects of a business are equally subject to controversy. Guy and Paul then guided the audience through tax planning issues as well as tax risks. Additionally, they offered to collaborate with our member firms to explore opportunities to serve our clients in this area.

General Business:
Board Meeting – the Board will meet in mid-August. Among items on the agenda:
• approve a slate of candidates for 2013-2014
• accept the proposed meeting schedule for the coming year
• set up the BV-24 Planning Committee
Last fall, the Programming Committee developed a list of potential topics and speakers based on member input. Over the next few weeks, we will send out a questionnaire, via Survey Monkey, with the goal of rounding out our offerings for the coming year.
