Continuing education certificates were emailed last week. If you did not receive one, or the information is incorrect, please contact Dennie (odennie@hotmail.com). We had very positive feedback regarding the use of electronic invitations and reminders, Pay-Pal registration, and accessing course materials via download from a secure site. Our financial situation looks good at this point in time. Expenses for hotel, airfare, food, graphics/artwork, speaker remuneration, and Constant Contact were within budget. Support staff “hands on “ time was higher than in the past, but that cost was easily offset by reductions in print set up (no cost), printing, and mailing (no cost) expenses.

This Month’s Topic:

Bob Strachota will address attendees at the joint ASA/NCCIBA meeting regarding the current development status of the non-profit entity, Business Data Network (BDN). In the past, Bob and others have discussed the advantages of setting up a database for local business appraisers and brokers that is similar to the system currently available for real estate appraisers and brokers (ADN).

The BDN concept is intended to provide a valuable resource for all business valuation professionals in Minnesota. This particular meeting is a follow up to prior meetings and presentations conducted over the past several months. The intention of this meeting is to provide an in-depth Q&A with members of the ASA/NCCIBA in order to obtain input and to determine the membership level of interest in supporting and funding further development. Plus, it’s just good fun to see everyone again.
