About John Hawthorne

Mr. Hawthorne provides expert business valuation and other corporate financial consulting services. He has served as an expert witness in various state and federal court jurisdictions, appeared before the IRS and has been involved in the arbitration of valuation disputes. Additionally, Mr. Hawthorne is a course developer and instructor for the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and the International Institute of Business Valuers (IIBV), teaching BV courses worldwide.

Mr. Hawthorne’s current professional practice is focused on providing state-of-the-art valuation and corporate financial consulting, strategic planning, economic development and investment management services to clients on a local, national and global basis. Client corporations have ranged in size from business start-ups to enterprises in excess of $500 million in sales, including manufacturing, distribution and service businesses of all types. Mr. Hawthorne has performed securities analysis, business valuation, business damages assessments and corporate financial consulting for a variety of purposes.

Some of the specialized industries for which Mr. Hawthorne has expertise include government contractors, telecommunication and internet companies, banking and insurance, and agriculture related companies. In addition, Mr. Hawthorne has valued a variety of intangible assets, including the appraisal of the intangible assets associated with the Crazy Horse National Monument located in Custer, SD. He has also been actively involved in assisting in the economic development, design and engineering of security interests concerning mergers, acquisitions, venture capital, and management employment agreements.
